Oh, I'm sure you know I share your M/SS love. XD But it's also fun to write other things too.
I'd actually been meaning to write something on the order of this story for a little over a year, ever since I wrote Bright Ideas for Pell last holiday season. Thing was, I couldn't think of how Starscream could possibly dupe a character as awesome as Optimus. (Personally, although I've seen other takes on it that I think are very good, in my headcanon the only possible reason SS could ever take interest in OP would be to deceive him and laugh about it.)
Then about a week ago inspiration struck and it hit me that he'd do so by faking being woobie and begging for h/c. Because Optimus wouldn't be able to resist trying to soothe and rescue him, even if his logic circuits were screaming at him that it's all a very obvious trap.
As soon as that dawned on me, I had to write this. IMMEDIATELY. XD
But I don't know that I'll write more for them, sadly. I don't think OP will ever be naive enough to fall for SS's shenanigans again. Even if SS powers up the irresisitible woobie-optics again, OP will be like Odysseus and the sirens: "Tie me to the mast and whatever you do, don't let me swim out there!"
