Oh, I've liked sticky for a long time. I don't really get these fanwars that say that if you like some other method you're supposed to be scandalized by sticky. I just chose not to write it, because I was interested in exploring what robots would do for pleasure and figuring it wouldn't look too much like human sex. That doesn't mean I ever had any problem with enjoying other people writing robot sex that did! ;-)
I'd been meaning to write some for a while actually. As much as I enjoy writing sparks it's somewhat limiting. There are really only a couple of positions they can do it in and I started to feel it was getting repetitive. I long ago made a vow to myself I wouldn't write M/SS unless I felt I could write something unique and exciting for them, and lately I'd wanted to write for them and just kept feeling I'd be rehashing the same things. So I decided that it was time.
I'm very glad it worked for you! :-)
And yeah, I do think M/SS can definitely be romantic, in a "deadly villains at constant odds with one another, but only because if they weren't it would mean they didn't care enough about one another to be" kind of way.
