Wow. I've never really been a fan of Nightbird in fic, but I have to say I really like what you've done with her in this. You use canon without taking any wild, improbable leaps, but neither do your limit yourself to what canon gave you, which is something I love seeing - particularly in this fandom that gives us so little characterization for many individuals. Your portrayal of her and her motivations and thoughts is both believable and compelling. Honestly, I have to say that this is the first time I've thought of Nightbird - real, canon Nightbird, not a fanon version of her - as a character in her own right. Well done.
