Aww. I don't want to give away too much, but I'm glad it comes off well.
It's interesting for me that we've only come up against these guys through Nova's recollections before, so this is the first time we meet them - and hence we get to form another kind of first impression.
I wanted very badly for them to be interesting characters. It really wouldn't do for Nova to be so deeply nostalgic about a bunch of highly uninteresting, run of the mill villains.
I'm glad they work well for you. After so long, their big reveal has some seriousness behind it!
As I said on MSN, Leech is beautifully creepy.
I'm so glad. He's one of my favorite characters in the whole thing, actually. I created him to fill a hole and wasn't sure about him at first. I needed a Mister Thinky 'Con, given that Nova and Colossus and Bane are all strong fighters. Winder is sneaky, but he's so smarmy I couldn't just leave him as the only brainy one.
So I dreamed Leech up, and rapidly came to just love him. And his twin brother/offspring/pet. (I think those descriptions could all apply, actually. Score one more for Decepticon creepiness.)
